As an artist duo, we create artworks, that address the reciprocal relationship between humans and technology, which goes beyond a purely functional understanding. The bodies we create to house electrical current experience a special vivification through elements of kinetics and robotics. They invite viewers to engage with the implications of the flowing energies intuitively. Our most recent focus of artistic research has been the investigation of the aesthetics, substance, societal role and decomposition of plastic material. We study what might be termed the degree of humanity the material embodies. Through an aesthetic inquiry in dialogue with scientific research, we seek to identify the origin and possible future of the hybridization of the natural and artificial.
The publication hello world celebrates the first ten years of our collaboration as an artist duo and presents an extensive cross-section of our output of the past years. With an introduction by Agnieszka Kubicka-Dzieduszycka, curator of the ECC Chemnitz 2025, and essays by the author and artist Thomas Georg Blank as well as digital art curator Lucia Longhi.
